Hikeys

Hikeys are a shy strand of Norfolk fae found from the fen borders and ancient heaths to woodland and the reed beds of the Broads. Mature Hikeys are sharp-featured and birdlike, with bright eyes, clever hands and cloaks patterned after the birds or beasts associated with their clan.

Old warnings paint them as dangerous, but surviving records suggest something subtler: Hikeys have been known to guide lost children and animals home, while allowing less careful travellers to learn from their own mistakes.

They are watchers rather than warriors, most comfortable at the edges of paths, fields and human attention.
