Shucklings are the smallest recorded members of the Shuck tradition. They have repeatedly appeared alongside larger Black Shuck forms, particularly around Bungay, although the exact relationship between the two remains uncertain.

Whether Shucklings are young hounds, lesser manifestations or simply a different class of the Beast has never been satisfactorily established. What is clear is their tendency to remain close to places already associated with Shuck activity.

Small though they are, their protective purpose appears unchanged: a little hound can still watch a very large threshold.
