Dodmen

Dodmen are patient travelling Beasts named for an old Norfolk word associated with shell-bearers seen after rain. Small, deliberate and rarely in any hurry, they wander damp lanes, mossy banks and the overlooked edges of East Anglia carrying their homes upon their backs.

Existing records distinguish Dodmen and Dodmers, each with their own characteristic form, but both share an association with travel and old luck.

They are observers as much as wanderers, gathering for events such as the Great Dodmoot and appearing wherever the road, the weather and their own mysterious business happen to take them.
