"So that nothing may be lost"
Lorewarden
Who Are the Lorewardens?
The Lorewardens are the knowledge-bearers of the Dragon Hunter Guild. They do not chase dragons through the wild for sport or barter in relics for personal gain. Instead, they look beneath the surface of the world, following clues buried in forgotten texts, whispered by ruined walls, and etched into the bones of the land.
They are drawn to what was nearly lost. Old churches overgrown with ivy. Hollowed stones on windswept ridges. Maps too faded to read. The Lorewardens trace patterns through the past to protect what matters in the present.
Their mission is clear: preserve the truth, restore balance, and ensure that every dragon found is remembered with care and context. They are slow and methodical by choice, refusing to be rushed by the noise of modern chaos. If others are the spark, the Lorewardens are the hearth.
Those that, keep the knowledge

Dressing the Part: The Quiet Uniform of the Lorewardens
While each of the Flights operates clandestinely, blending into the world around them, the Lorewardens have developed subtle ways of recognising one another in the field. Dressing as inconspicuously as possible is essential to avoid drawing the attention of those outside the Guild. Still, certain accessories are quietly used to mark their allegiance.
Blue is their colour. It appears in scarves, hat linings, enamel pins, or the threadwork of a bag. Not loud. Never obvious. Just enough for a trained eye to notice.
To outsiders, they look like walkers, naturalists, or hobbyist historians. To fellow Guild members, they are clearly marked. The sign of a blue-threaded key means you’ve found one of your own.
The Signal of the Key
Among Lorewardens, words are rarely needed in the field. When two truthseekers cross paths near a ruin, a quiet gesture says it all. A key, held briefly in the palm or shown at the belt, marks a shared purpose.
This is no ornament. It is a code. A sign that both are walking the same hidden path, searching for the same echoes beneath the earth.
If you see the key, you are not alone. If you carry one, you are trusted to keep the silence.
Personality and Philosophy
The Lorewarden mindset:
- Analytical over instinctive
- Patient over reactive
- Reflective over boastful
Lorewardens do not assume they have all the answers. They believe wisdom lies in listening, recording, and uncovering. Each Snap Dragon is treated as a witness to history, not a prize.
They are often solitary, but not unfriendly. They see the Guild as a living archive, one that must be carefully maintained so that others may learn from its secrets
Do You Hear the Silence Calling?
The Lorewardens do not rush. They do not shout. They do not need to. Come walk the hidden path. The dragons are waiting, but only for those who understand the question before seeking the answer.
