The Embercallers are the wild-hearted seekers of the Dragon Hunter Guild. They do not rely on relics, records, or rituals passed down through scrolls. Instead, they hunt with instinct, calling dragons from the land itself through energy, movement, and fire.
They believe that dragons respond to presence. Not logic. Not strategy. But feeling. The Embercallers light fires in the forgotten corners of the world, listen to the wind, and let their feet carry them toward whatever calls back.
To them, dragons are not tools or treasures. They are living symbols of the world’s hidden rhythms. If the Lorewardens are the memory and the Thornbound the game, the Embercallers are the spark.
Dressing the Part: The Flame in the Wild
Embercallers do not wear uniforms. They dress for movement, for the elements, and for the unknown. Their style is layered, improvised, and often carries the marks of the places they’ve been—scorch marks, mud stains, and worn fabric shaped by weather.
Red is their colour. It may appear in a bandana, a streak of thread, an ember symbol stitched on the inside of a jacket, or the glow of a lighter flashed beneath a tree. Always raw. Always real.
They carry carved charms, scorched pendants, and relics bound with twine or sinew. Many wear soot like paint, or trail markings that signal their path.
To outsiders, they look like wanderers, campers, or hikers who stayed out too long. But when the firelight flickers and the right symbol shows, another Embercaller will always see their own.
The Signal of the Fire
Out on the trail, Embercallers do not speak their allegiance aloud. Instead, they carry fire. A lighter sparked briefly, a charm shaped like a flame. These gestures call to something older than speech.
In a pinch a click of the fingers evokes the imagery of the spark of flame.
