December 2024, the cold had started to creep in and the nights were drawing longer. Burnie waited within the trees behind a church, simmering his fire to conserve what heat he had.
The riddle was revealed one morning in the middle of winter which held the secrets of Burnie's location. With the rains that had plagued Norfolk prior to this time, it was vital that he was recovered as quickly as possible to not risk him extinguishing. The Keepers revealed he was hiding at the nearby churchyard, and so the hunters set out to find him.

'Crafty pig' was the clue provided, and crafty was very apt for how Burnie was hiding. In the grounds of Little Witchingham, Burnie had taken shelter in the trees at the rear of the church. Thick mud and fallen leaves covered his trail, but Thornbound Mist waded through and found him cowering under a branch.

She collected him and brought him back home, providing him with warmth from the fireplace.
Burnie has since come into his own, basking in the fires that Mist sets for him. He can often be found nestled in the remnants of a smouldering fire, rolling the still heated bark over his scaled body.
