For Guild Eyes Only

For Guild Eyes Only

The opening page of the Large Red Book carries a simple inscription: For Guild Eyes Only.

Inside lies a complete record of our year together. The hunts, the dragons, the lore, the confusion, and the countless footsteps that carried us along Norfolk’s roads, fields, and ruins. From the very first hunt to our last, every moment has been gathered, written, and remembered. Between those two markers sits a history that cannot be replicated and should never be forgotten.

This book is heavy, not just in weight but in meaning. It is a work of collaboration, written not by one voice but by many. Each Guild member who took the time to recall a detail, share a sighting, or preserve a fragment of myth added to its pages. It is a chronicle of Snap Dragons, but it is also a chronicle of us.

The Importance of Records

Beasts are fleeting by nature. They are found and then gone, whispered about, half remembered, their colours fading in the mind. Without record keeping, much of what we have done would already have slipped away into rumour and shadow. The Large Red Book holds it fast. It tells future hunters that these dragons lived, that we sought them, that together we forged something worth remembering.

History can be fragile. Without care even the greatest moments are lost. That is why the Large Red Book matters. It is more than an archive. It is an anchor.

After the Reset

You will know by now that our public trails have been wiped clean. The Guild has reset, shed its old skin, and chosen to begin anew. The crowded pages of social media have been set aside, leaving space for fresh stories and clearer paths.

Yet this does not mean the past is gone. It means we have bound it. Every discovery, every dragon, every step from our first hunt to our last remains alive within the Large Red Book. The reset cleared the stage, but it did not erase the play.

There is far too much content inside to cover here. It is the groundwork of a year in the making.

We have tried for some time to find the words to do it justice, and only one feels right.

Sublime.
“Of very great excellence or beauty.”

As is the book.
As is our history.
As are you all.
