Stolen from the shores of Normandy, the pale limestone of Caen was carried across the sea to shape two of Norwich’s greatest landmarks—Norwich Castle and Norwich Cathedral. Over centuries, these stones have weathered time, war, and whispering footsteps, standing as silent sentinels of the city’s history. But what if something else came with them?
Some say dragons once nested in the quarries of France, their scales as pale as the carved stone, hidden among the blocks as they sailed across the channel. And when the masons laid their hands upon the stolen stone, perhaps they disturbed something ancient—something that lingers still.
The French Stone Snap Dragon is the first to ever grace the shores of East Anglia, marking the beginning of the great dragon revival of 2024. A piece of living history, it is the cornerstone of any collection, ideal for those setting out on their journey or for seasoned hunters seeking to claim an iconic piece of Norwich’s past.
Unlike other Snap Dragons this one will be restocked each month, still in limited quantities as each is hand made. But enough that one day Norwich will be the city of 100 dragons once more.
